It's so hard to know what food to pack! Unlike relay races where you can stop at any grocery store if you get a hankerin' for something specific, this race is different. You've got to either bring it or rely on what is at the aid station. Because I've never done a race of this length, it's nearly impossible to guess if I've planned to bring enough food. My bet is that when this list is complete, you'll be saying, "That's plenty!"
In no particular order, here's what I've already packaged up or plan to buy: blueberries, grapes, mandarins (already peeled), bananas, an apple or two, raspberries, blackberries, apple sauce, two 4-packs of Belvitas (cinnamon sugar & apple cinnamon), almonds, animal crackers, Dave's famous homemade cornbread muffins, yogurt, rolls of turkey & swiss cheese, pickles, orange juice, grapefruit juice, pickle juice (in a separate container), and some type of BBQ (pulled pork or pulled chicken). Don't worry - I'm not forgetting the staples like energy gels, water, and PowerAde.
What I'm really interested to see is what I'd keep the same and what different types of food I'd want to have if I did this same type of event. Once the race is over, I'll definitely be reflecting back on this!
