On the Runner's World forum, I asked for advice, suggestions, tips, tricks, and any other info that people in the Ultramarathons section wanted to share. If you'd like to check out all of what's there, click here. (Don't worry, it's not that lengthy!) Most of those who responded echoed the "keep moving" sentiment. Trust me, that's my plan! However, there was another response that just resonated with me, and I wanted to share it with you.
"Get your mind ready right now that no matter what you will keep moving
for 6 hrs. NO MATTER WHAT. If you have any doubts or can think of any
excuses they will be magnified when the hurt starts."
Maybe it's the experience I had during SoMo and the fact that I didn't expect to be hit so hard with the "mental-ness" of it all, but I'm looking forward to maybe some redemption of being able to focus, push through the wanting to stop, and see just how much ground I can cover!
