What an amazing, crazy, fun, and tiring day it has been! Over the next few days, I promise to share all of the wonderful details with you. For now, I'll keep it short because, as you can imagine, I'm damn tired!
The long & short of it is that I officially completed 27 laps of a 1.24 mile course, and it took me 5 hours, 44 minutes, and 19 seconds. Only full laps are counted, and when I crossed the timing mats at 5:44:19, I was pretty sure I couldn't do another lap in 15 minutes. Turns out, looking at the lap-by-lap breakdown, I might've been able to pull it off! Truthfully, though, I'm completely happy with how I did. Oh, and I also placed 3rd out of the 15 female runners! That was shocking! (A full list of results can be found here: http://www.splitsecondtiming.com/results/2015/vistaindiv2015.html.)
In case you're wondering why Judy's screen shot shows just over 5 hours and 22 minutes, it has to do with a RunKeeper setting. I've got an auto-pause feature that will stop the tracking when the speed drops below 3 mph. After about 2 and a half hours of running, I realized that it made sense to swing by my cooler and get something to eat or drink after almost every lap. Even though I kept moving by pacing back & forth as I was eating or drinking, RunKeeper was stopped. I probably should've turned off the auto-pause to keep the time more accurate. Oh well...I know for next time! (Did you catch that?)
